Monroe Swing & Ballroom Company
While out swing dancing in 2015, four friends decided they wanted to bring this amazing pastime to the people of Monroe. They planned an outdoor beginner swing class by the River Raisin, not knowing who might come or if the summer weather would stay pleasant. The class was a success, however, and with each passing week more and more people came to learn. Now here we are, several years later, still doing and teaching what we love. What started as a single group class has grown into a community that loves to partner dance. No longer limited to swing dancing, our group has since branched out to offer a variety of dance styles at its classes and, with the help of Spotlight Studio, we're now able to offer indoor classes year-round. So come out and dance with us! We promise you'll have a swinging good time!

Meet the Instructor
Molly has loved partner dancing ever since she was in high school. As mentioned above, she and three friends decided in 2015 that they wanted to share swing dancing with their local community so they created Monroe Swing. Wishing to broaden her horizons, Molly went on to study other partner dances and became a certified ballroom instructor in 2017. She enjoys teaching people of all ages to dance, whether for weddings, cruises, or just for fun. One of her favorite teaching experiences was participating in the ChadTough Foundation’s annual “Dancing with the Michigan Stars” charity competition where she trained and performed with Michigan Baseball Coach Erik Bakich, taking home the trophy for the pair’s Tango.
